SOLIHULL SCHOOL CHOIR SERENADES ANTIQUES FAIR VISITORS

Having sung for Gary Barlow in April and entertained BBC audiences across the UK, last week the students from Solihull School broadened their repertoire when they serenaded visitors at the opening of Antiques for Everyone at the NEC. The fair is the largest antiques and collectables fair outside London.

The 10 strong choir of Sixth formers entertained the growing queue of 500 strong visitors with carols as they waited patiently for the doors to open on the fair’s first day (Thursday). The choir then moved into the auditorium to sing for the crowds.

The school’s head of choral music Oliver Walker said: “We are really delighted to be invited to sing at the fair. It’s a great experience for the choir and good exposure for the school.”

Dan Leyland, the fair’s show manager said: “The Antiques for Everyone winter fair always has a festive feel to it especially when it takes place in December. We wanted to invite a local school to take part and the students of Solihull School entertained everyone so a big vote of thanks to them.”
