Sixth Form USA Visit
The cut and thrust of the US Presidential Election Campaign is about to come vividly to life for a group of Lower Sixth Formers from Solihull School.
Twenty-five History and Politics students will be visiting New York and Washington for a week before Election Day to take in the political atmosphere.
They will be visiting the seats of power and learning first-hand about the election process as well as gaining a better understanding of America’s role in the world.
Teacher Dr Helen Johnson, who will be leading the half-term trip, which takes place just two weeks before the Election, said: “Our students are looking forward with great excitement to visiting America in the countdown to Election Day.
“The trip will be especially useful for our Politics students, who will be studying the American political system in their second year in the Sixth Form, and our History students, who will be covering the Cold War and Vietnam next year.”
